This was an interesting tournament for us to run as The Last of US wasn't targeted as competitive multi-player game. A big thanks to all who competed and helped out with the organising and administration. With only 3 teams registered for this tournament we decided to run 2 rounds of a 'round robin' stage followed by a finals play-off. This gave each team the opportunity to play each other twice before the finals, with teams alternating hosting between rounds.... (Read the full wrap-up here).
Our first challenge, to test the rules and submission process, was a solo challenge on firebase glacier, bronze level against the mighty Geth. Players had to play a human vanguard and get through as much of the waves as possible, or finish with the best time. We had some score adjustments for low level characters, which made for some interesting results... (Read the full wrap-up here).
The second challenge was a 2 player co-op challenge on firebase white, silver difficult against the fast moving reapers. This challenge was a bit tougher and players had to pair up with characters of the same race. We did not get a lot of submissions, thanks to Bioshock Infinite, BL2 DLC, and real life. Six teams (BLaZn1, BLaZn2, NzAs1, NzAs2, NzAs3 and NZR) took part in a Multi Team 3v3v3 tourney, with four rounds of round-robin competition followed by a grand final for the top three teams. CONGRATULATIONS ZLB. And solid consistency right through out the tournament NZR!! Both teams massively deserved to be in the final and I'm sure it was an epic game with highlights right throughout.
