Re: The whats playing/played thread

Bioshock 2 Remastered (PC) played through suffered the same crashes as I did with the original this time it has added broken achievements which I kinda found funny since they worked in the original. Still baring the annoying crashes didnt mind playing through it again.

inFamous First Light and Second Son (PS4) played first light first which I kinda feel was a mistake from a gameplay point of view fetch feels so much more focused and superior in control in both traversal and combat to Delsin who suffers from his less focused mutli powers. Was surprised at how short Second Son felt as well definitely didnt feel as meaty as the first 2 main mission wise but other then that gameplay wise it felt good with First light feeling better.

Farcry Primal (PS4) started this it plays as you expect a ubi game nothing stand out or special here but surprisingly clubbing things to death has its charm. Annoying thing is the traversal though just getting around can be annoying when faced with cliffs and the dread rock textured inclines that so many games have that you slide down when try to walk up. I was enjoying it somewhat up until I dunced and copied my save data from usb to hdd instead of the other way around and lost many hours of progress and with it the will to continue at least in any recent time.

Nice one Spec (other than sympathies for the losing the up-to-date save).  Got a laugh out of the quoted bit :).
I agree on the gameplay in First Light as well - while short, it was a tighter gameplay experience, felt more cohesive.  Was a fan of both though.
Am actually playing a new game here - Steel Division:44.  It's pretty good, and the time settings can be modded so that bullet time is extra slow (I can only manage everything going on switching between paused and slow :)).  There seems to be a fair bit happening at once, but the tactical balance between all the units works very well, and the first four campaign missions play well.  Would recommend for anyone looking for a WW2 RTS.  Have heard good things about MP as well, although unless I can find people that take about three hours a match with lots of long pauses, it's not something I'll be doing :).

Actually been really enjoying FFXV, picked up on recent sale. It feels like a big departure but that's ok, I'm still enjoying the world and the characters and I like the combat system, more than what they were trying to do with XIII.
I've been really slow to play much of anything lately though as I've mostly just been playing Overwatch when I have, I never should've gotten into it lol.

^Only semi recent game I've played is Ghost Recon Wildlands and I wouldn't recommend it as even though I got a fair amount of fun out of it I know most people wouldnt playing by themselves.

Revisited Journey on PS4 after having played it on PS3 through game-sharing, I enjoyed quite a bit though so I bought it on sale so I could play it on PS4. Still enjoyable definitely not for everyone but the glittering sand and flying around still get a smile out of me.

Started Metal Gear Solid 5 (PS4) lol the start noticing the guy you're following ass crack is hanging out and then later the zoom in on it just to make so you don't miss it really set a certain tone to the beginning.

I am enjoying it overall but there have been some annoying bits and some really annoying bits. Annoying is when a mission asks you to travel a fair distance between objectives especially the few times a mountain has been in the way i just want to get on to the business which is enjoyable. The really annoying is the Skulls what horrible enemies its like they just combined a bunch of traits into to one without any disadvantages that enemies usually have thank god for D-Walker. Mission 17 I think it was also annoying, shouldn't be surprised since it was an escort mission had to use the Helicopter support which only just survived then the escortees decided to stop instead of follow had to go back then the took forever then at the extract spot they all collapsed then you had to pick them up one by one to put them on the Heli and then each time you had to jump back off the Heli just to rub it in even more. So horrible.

The music tapes you pick up from the radios is on point though I'm just roaming around then I just start to here so many hit songs even though I wasn't alive when they were made I know many of them well and Im like :D when one comes across my ears.

Sounds like Mission 17 would be appropriate punishment next time you misbehave Spec :).  That bit at the start sounds pure Kojima - he's a nutter, but in a good way :).

Sorry DC91, I haven't played anything new on the PS4 for ages.  If you ever need any strategy game recommendations though, just say the word :).

Been playing a fair bit of Hearts of Iron 4 with the new expansion here.  The land AI has really tightened up making for a tougher and more enjoyable game, which goes well :).  Also played a bit of Steel Division, which is also quality if anyone's looking for a WW2-themed RTS :).  Feels more than a bit like (but is also distinctly different from - particularly with the 'phases' system) Eugen's Wargame games, which is no bad thing.

Finally finished Persona 5! Such an amazing game 10/10. Such a great journey.

Also played the FFXV: Episode Prompto. Also good, though the story didn't really reveal anything new other than some character development I guess.

Nice one Aro :).  How long (give or take) did Persona 5 take, sounds like it's a huge game!

Turns out you can put people in the Heli without getting in so that sucks I didn't realise during what seems the only time that would've been useful -_____-
Mission 17 is simple now thanks to upgrades.
I also definitely see the complaints about the lack of story with the lack of cut-scenes I think at times is this a MGS game, so noticeable coming from 4's hours of them.

Ouch, always the way.  I've played plenty of levels like that - you bash through with difficulty then learn some trick or tip and are like "bugger"!  Sorry to hear about the lack of cut-scenes - I wonder if Kojima's new game will have many?

i've been playing homefront the revolution.  it has terrible review scores etc but isn't bad.  it has an identical setup to far cry in capturing bases etc (literally identical) but runs on the cryengine so looks a million times better.  it also doesn't seen as repetitive, although it is as repetitive as farcry, but maybe due to there not being as many locations ?  dunno but worth a play.

Cheers for the info Graph, glad to hear it's a goer :).

Still playing HoI4 here, because in this age of uncertainty and change, I'm working on being a force for stability :P.
