perhaps it's a microphone or something ?

not too sure about that 3.5mm jack or whatever it is on the bottom as per an xbox controller.  really doesn't seem like something sony would do, especially given they're in the headset market themselves with fully wireless units.  i'm still thinking it's a fake or incredibly far from the final product.
