Sony have announced a PlayStation event to be held on February the 20th, Tweeting that it will be your chance to "See the Future" and that you can be "the first to know."

that video was a bit disappointing.  i really hope kaz doesn't fück playstation as a whole as he almost did with gran turismo.

gotta be the PS4. also wouldn't be surprised that the reason rockstar pushed back the launch of GTA5 till later this year was because of the new consoles. GTA on a next gen console will be epic

Didn't mind the video - could have been better, I'd just rate it as average.  Clearly something broad-brush about Playstation - I'd tip it to be PS4, just because they'll cop a fair bit if they announce something like Music Unlimited now free with PS+ or something like that, lol.  Feb 20 is early than most of the rumours have been pointing at though.

Will be interesting to see what happens.  While the fanboys are annoying, I wouldn't want to see Xbox and Playstation team up - competition is really important in the console space.  If we have one console provider, we'll all be paying $200/year just to play online :/.

Fair enough if they wanted to do their own thing, but one would think they'd wait till E3 to announce the Ps4/Orbis.
The controller buttons seemed to be the main focus of the video which makes me think it'll be an announcement about the controller change.

And im sure we all remember how much hype and teasers they did for the stupid "Micheal ad", so i wouldn't be surprised if it's something small. Either way, just have to wait

I think the video might be showing a quick single frame shots of the PS4? In the reflections and close ups on some frames it looks like some shiny hardware or just my eyes playing tricks.

Nice spotting Outlaw .  Probably of PS4 announcement = very high!  Well, we'll know whether it's good news or bad in a little over two weeks time (and I'm tipping good) - must make for half-decent odds of getting a PS4 for BF4 for ya Outlaw .  Now all we need is for BIRDS OF STEEL 2 to be a launch title .

More info/rumors i don't know;
Some little snippets:

• Launch date "We’re told that PlayStation 4 will launch in Japan and the US by Christmas, with a Euro rollout following in early 2014"
  
• Controller " is the same size as an existing DualShock but features a small touchpad in place of the existing Select, Start and PS buttons.
  
• The PS4 hardware will continually record the most recent 15 minutes of onscreen action (with no processing penalty, claims our source), which users will then be able to edit and broadcast via the Internet.
  
• One source familiar with both platforms tells us that in real terms Sony’s console is “slightly more powerful” and “very simple to work with”.

If this is true (and it's still far too early to know, particularly as it's the first time we've heard of it), this would be awesome .
